Performing Arts Scholarships in Theatre
Performing Arts Scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate an outstanding talent in theatre.
A student who receives a Performing Arts Scholarship in Theatre must participate in theatre department activities and maintain at least a 2.8 grade point average. The scholarships will be available in performance, in design/technical theatre and in playwriting. In addition, scholarship recipients would be expected to take advantage of the numerous production opportunities -- on or off stage --offered through Lehigh's theatre department, which stages numerous productions annually.
How to Apply for a Performing Arts Scholarship in Theatre
To be considered, please submit:
- a cover letter with your complete name, address, phone, and birth date;
- a resume or list of your theatre experience
- a letter of recommendation from one of your theatre teachers or directors; and
- a short statement describing your interest in theatre and an objective narrative about your qualifications for the scholarship. Please contact the department chairperson for an audition/interview when you expect to visit campus. Videotaped auditions and telephone interviews may be substituted if necessary.
Deadline to apply for scholarship
Rolling, best before Feb. 1. Scholarship applications will be accepted throughout the school, year, but materials received after Feb. 1 may not be given full consideration. Note: To be considered for any scholarship, you must first submit an official application Lehigh University's Office of Admissions by January 1.
